Seasons Greetings to Our Muskie Bay Family!

The Sun is shining, the temperature is in the mid teens, and already mid November!  Beautiful fall here at Muskie Bay.  It is our time to slow down and enjoy memories of this past season.  Every year, we wonder, “Can it get any better than this?”   Another season opens, and our guests provide us with even more special moments, great meals at pot luck, cool sand castles, great fishing stories around the fire pit, so “yes” Muskie Bay  seems to just keep getting better and better.  It means a lot when guests both young and old count down the weeks until they return to Muskie Bay.   We believe that the success of 2011, comes directly from our loyal clients, and their continued support and friendship.  We appreciate You, and  look forward to making 2012 another great season.

This year we had 2 couples get engaged here at Muskie Bay. Congratulations to Trisha & Ryan, and Abbey & Bill. This October Heather and I had the opportunity to travel to Butler, PA to attend the wedding of long time guest, Courtney Meier. We had a great time, catching up with quite a few of our Muskie Bay family. It was fun to see everyone dressed up, not wearing their fishing clothes! 

“Fishing was Fantastic this year”  with May & June being the best we have seen in 15 years.  Looking over the pictures, we had plenty of pan fish caught, and quite a few big bass and walleye too!  “Catch and Release” of the trophy fish has made for some great stories!   We have noticed you guys sitting on the “Liars Bench”  talking animatedly, we are guessing the fish story gets better every time it is told!

In between the fishing photos are lots of  kid ones too, fishing derbies, sandcastle contests.   The water trampoline, kayaks, and paddle boats offer the best water fun. Our weekly tubing brings a lot of laughs, even knocking the pants off of a few!  Thanks to the kids who make our summers great just by having fun, and welcoming the new kids into your activities!  We often hear the kids at night after dark playing flashlight tag in the park.

One week we had a “floating island” coming in toward Muskie Bay!  It did not take Rennie long to divert this floating island, as it could have done a lot of damage to local docks, boats etc on the
shoreline.  ( Rennie was just worried he would have to pay taxes on this floating island!)

Rice Lake Fishing Festival runs May 12- June 17,2012.  Last year one of our guests Rob VanVliet from Woodstock, ON won a 9.9 hp motor!  A tagged Muskie Bay fish was also caught…. Sadly the guy had not purchased a Festival Button, so he could not collect the prize.  Please check out our web site for a link to the festival.
