Keeping You Informed

Greetings to Everyone!  Here at Muskie Bay we are officially closed for the season!  As you know, there is always work to be done, so even though the resort is closed, we are busy preparing for 2010.

The Ministry of Natural Resources has made several changes to regulations for the 2010 year for Rice Lake.

One change being a limit on panfish of 300 per Sport License.  We at Muskie Bay have been working with many Resorts on the  Rice Lake Tourist Association, to once again have Rice Lake exempt from these changes!

Please check on their web site for any further information.

Guests are encouraged to send their thoughts and opinions etc. to http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/ContactUs/index.html

Passports- A reminder that you are required to present a passport or the new passport card when entering Canada or returning to the U.S. We have not heard of any problems at the border crossings during the 2009 season.

Reminder- Deposits for the 2010 season are due January 15, 2010.

Please email or phone with your reservation requests, we will gladly help in any way possible.

Fishing License- Reminder for guests to bring your plastic outdoor cards next year.  If you have not received your card, please call 1-800-387-7011. This includes both our Canadian and American guests.

Last year was a busy summer here at the Bay.  It was a little cooler than some years, but that did not seem to stop everyone from having a good time.

We certainly enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting several new ones too!

As many of you know Charlene went through radiation treatments this past year for cancer. She is feeling much better and looking forward to next season.  Jane started working in the store this summer, and enjoyed meeting all of our guests. She has finished her schooling now, and working at a retirement home in Cobourg. We are going to try and persuade her to put in a few shifts next summer too!

In May our daughter Danielle got engaged!  So working here this summer was a great way to spend time together.  On November 7th she married Ben Vlietstra.  Ben and his family have been coming to Muskie Bay for the last 12 years.  They now live in Brantford, which is where we moved from 13 years ago.

Bryan and Heather have continued to be great workers here, taking on more responsibility each year!  Bryan is in grade 12 this year, looking forward to college next fall.  Heather is in grade 9, and doing well in the transition from a small country school to a larger high school.

We are all  looking forward to 2010, and Wishing Everyone a Happy New Year!

Thanking you once again, for making Muskie Bay your Family Vacation Place.
